Performing arts

This course is perfect for students passionate about exploring the world of theatre and performance studies.

Throughout the programme, students engage in a variety of dynamic theatre workshops that delve into the intricacies of characterisation, physical expression, comedic timing, vocal techniques, immersive role-playing, and spontaneous improvisation.

Whether aspiring actors or simply eager to explore the magic of the stage, this course offers an enriching and transformative experience for all.

Students have the opportunity to be part of short productions performed to an audience and to experience lead and supporting roles.

Students also have the opportunity to write and perform their own scripts, screenplays or radio plays, study set and costume design and the use of visual and audio effects.

Taunton School boasts a state-of-the-art theatre facility along with multiple well-equipped drama studios exclusively available for student use and performances.

As part of the programme, students are treated to an exclusive backstage tour of the school's theatre, where they can gain invaluable insights into the technical aspects of theatre production.

From exploring lighting and sound setups, to discovering the intricate workings behind the scenes.

Please note: Senior Performing Arts will run at Summer Schools 2 and 3 only.
